A few thoughts about Hong Kong

Okay, so we are back from Hong Kong. And it was a CRAZY trip. I mean, imagine travelling with a 5.5 month who is jet lagged, grumpy, suddenly anxious around strangers and who just decided to up and stop breastfeeding just before leaving. And imagine you spent the two straight days before the 15 hour flight in a car for 6.5 hours each day to attend a wedding in LA. And imagine that you are the last to arrive in Hong Kong of the 30 family members going back to the reunion. And imagine the drama, the 3 hour meals with 10 courses, living in a space the size of a postage stamp, and getting very sick just before coming home. Well there you have our Christmas and New Years.... It was SO crazy. The family drama is always fun, of course, but throw in 3 new great grandbabies, and there you have it! We did pick up samples of the awesome new products we designed for CHA Winter (shh... sneak peek to come) somewhere in between the craziness. The little guy took awhile to warm up to Hong Kong. Unlike his cousin, Noah, who was charming the pants off of Hong Kong, Jonathan was a bit more reserved, especially when being passed around the huge family. Jonathan appreciates all of your Christmas wishes. He will be picking a winner of the RAK shortly. :) Oh yeah, and one more thing. He learned to speak today! Well, not exactly speak. But we have been trying to teach him baby sign language, and he never really got it. But today, when I was sitting in front of him showing the symbol for milk (nai nai), he did it! I am such a proud mommy... And he sort of crawled. Sort of not. I put him down on the quilt Jessica made for him, and he scooted up on his knees and pushed himself a few inches forward! It is the little joys that make motherhood worthwhile... :)
