The Big Push

We had a minor scare a little while ago when the baby's heart rate went down. Having just done the last cervical exam, Sue didn't think it was time to push yet, so she put Deborah on oxygen and reduced the Pitocin level. The baby's heart rate returned to normal, and Deborah got in a little more sleep. Just now, however, Sue came in to have a final check before her shift ends, and she noticed that the baby's heart rate was still decreasing during each contraction, suggesting that Deborah was further dilated and that the big push was on. She conducted another cervical exam, and Deborah is now fully dilated! The big push is on!
